THE CATCHING FACTORY

Thank you for your interest in the newest program offered by 222's Fastpitch! We are very excited about launching the "Catching Factory". The Catching Factory is opening in just Saskatoon for this spring, but with hopes to expand the program in the future to new locations in an effort to accommodate more of our 222's Family.

The Catching Factory was created for those catchers who are committed to becoming better catchers. They will be willing to make changes that 222's staff feel is necessary to get to that next level. This is not the program for those just looking to just pick up extra catching sessions. The sessions will focus on improving mechanics, but also the mental and situational aspects of catching.

The program is open to both girls and boys between the birth years of 2013-2004, and will be located in the beautiful Gordie Howe Sports Complex in Saskatoon.

The Catching Factory will run for 8 sessions, from February to April, 2023. Eight 1 hour. sessions for $200+GST or pay $35+GST for individual nightly spots (if available).

The lead instructor for this program is former SR A player and current 222's Fastpitch Lead Catching Instructor, Ryan "Rayyzor" Ray (along with a team of 222's Staff).

Registration will be open January 30th and close at midnight February 5th, for those wanting to register for the ALL-IN option of eight 1 hour sessions for $200+GST. If there are any remaining spots available after the ALL-IN registration closes, we will open a second phase of registration for individual sessions on February 6th at a rate of $35+GST per session, until the program is full. Please note - there will not be any spots held back for individual session registrations, so all spots may be claimed by the ALL-IN registrants. A waitlist will be created and accepted on a drop-in basis providing there is room in the session.

The Catching Factory will have two training groups:

1. Developmental Class (Qualifications for this program below):

  • For ages 2013 and older
  • For catchers just starting out, but as well for those who feel then need to focus on establishing a good foundation with their catching mechanics and form
  • Graduation into the advanced class in future years is NOT guaranteed. Catchers must be able to demonstrate the ability to make required changes and progress to a level that meets expectations for the Advanced Class.
  • Athletes will be accepted on a first come first serve basis
  • MAXIMUM 10 athletes accepted for this class. A waitlist will be created and accepted on a drop-in basis providing there is room in the session
  • Developmental Class Dates and Times:
  • February - 27th (8-9pm)
  • March - 1st (9-10pm), 21st (9-10pm)
  • April - 1st (1-2pm), 6th (9-10pm), 18th (7-8pm), 27th (8-9pm), 28th (5-6pm)

2. Advanced Class (Qualifications for this program below):

  • For ages 2009 and older
  • For more experienced catchers looking to improve mechanics and form
  • As this is our first year with this program, we will accept catchers based on a first come first serve basis. However, that does not guarantee your spot in the advanced class next winter. Catchers will have to have good attendance and show a commitment to making necessary changes to improve overall performance before being allowed back in the Advanced Session the next winter season.
  • MAXIMUM 10 athletes will be accepted for this class. A waitlist will be created and accepted on a drop-in basis providing there is room in the session
  • Advanced Class Dates and Times:
  • February 27th (7-8pm)
  • March 1st (8-9pm), 21st (8-9pm)
  • April 1st (12-1pm), 6th (8-9pm), 18th (6-7), 27th (7- 8pm), 28th (4-5pm)
